Americans Sink In Day 2 Of The Presidents Cup
General News, PGA September 29th, 2007After a great start to the Presidents Cup, the American team was stuck in the deep end on Day 2. In fact, Woody Austin symbolized the American’s drowning efforts by falling in the water himself on this difficult day.
After Woody Austin and his playing partner, David Toms, both played their shots into the water on the 14th hole, Austin decided to attempt playing his ball from the shallow end. Unfortunately for Woody, but funny for everybody else, he lost his balance on the shot and fell face-first into the water.
The international team was able to win four matches on the day and make the Presidents Cup a much closer battle than it seemed after Thursday’s round. Heading into the weekend, the Americans still lead 7-5, but the momentum has swayed. The upcoming rounds should provide a lot of excitement, although nothing will likely compare to the sight of seeing Woody Austin going for a swim.
