Donald Pulls It Off

British Luke Donald was able to hold onto to the lead at the Honda Classic to win his second PGA Tour title. The last time Donald had won a tour event was at the 2002 Southern Farm Bureau Classic.

Yesterday Donald was tied with Billy Mayfair, who ended up tied for third at nine under with David Toms. Geoff Ogilvy was the second place winner. Padraig Harrington who won last year finished in 16th place.

Donald closed with four round total of twelve-under 276. He was able to birdie the 72nd hole sealing the lead against Ogilvy who finished at ten-under 278. When asked about the previous times he has held the lead and not won, Donald had this to say about his second PGA tour win: “This is a big step. I think it’s definitely a step in the right direction. Anytime you can win, especially out here on the PGA TOUR, it’s a huge boost of confidence. Hopefully this will just keep the momentum going,” Donald said.
