What to Wear on the Course?
General News February 6th, 2006Being a female, I tend to place a lot of concern on what I’m going to wear when I go out to play a round. Our home course does have a dress code (collar and sleeves), but other courses I play do allow a sleeveless, collared shirt for females. This is great in July and August!
Watching the pros, I pay attention to what they wear. I saw Tiger in his bright pink shirt, and yesterday noticed a player’s lemon yellow pants which were brighter than the sun! Then there’s the Payne Stuarts out there who have a trademark style that becomes as much a part of their game as their putting stroke.
Recreational golfers need to follow a dress code, but face it, we’re not pros and no amount of clothing will make us look like it. In addition, have you walked into a pro shop and seen the prices on some of the shirts available for purchase? I also noted that there are limited options available for women.
I saw a need for golf clothing for the “recreational” golfer - clothing which meets the dress code, is affordable, but is fun (because isn’t that what golf is supposed to be?). The theme centers around fun golf clothing for the weekend hacker (both men women). In the process of being manufactured, the shirts boast an Irish theme, and the website will be up and running in about a month. Paddy’s Par will also include a link directly to Engolfed, your favorite golf blog!
