On Saturday, David Toms and Chad Campbell, who were tied for the lead at 14-under-par 196 on entering the final round of the Sony Open, were declared the AstraZeneca Charity Challenge winners.

The AstraZeneca Charity Challenge was formerly called the Crestor© Charity Challenge. It sole purpose is to recognize the leader of a tournament when going into the final round of 35 Tour events.

As a result, AstraZeneca will donate $3.5 million in names to various charities dedicated to improving health care. This includes approximately $100,000 being donated to the American College of Gastroenterology.

According to CEO, Tony Zook, “AstraZeneca’s partnership with the PGA TOUR is an integral part of our mission of giving back in local communities throughout America. The AstraZeneca Charity Challenge offers a unique platform for providing important disease awareness, health information and education to make a difference in the lives of patients and consumers everyday,” he stated.

AstraZeneca has donated over $9.7 million to charities since entering into partnership with the PGA Tour.
