The Trump Million Dollar Invitational
General News January 10th, 2006Donald Trump has announced that he is looking for 100 golfers to enroll in the Trump Million Dollar Invitational. The Trump Million Dollar Invitational is expected to be held during May 2006 at the Raffles Resort, Canouan Island, The Grenadines.
During his press conference Trump stated,
I am going to personally give one million dollars to the one golfer who can prove they have the skill and nerve it takes to survive under the most extreme pressure on one of the world’s most demanding courses. Because I’m not going to just give $1 Million away …they’re going to have to take it.
The 100 golfers selected will play a three-day, 54-hole competition without the benefit of a handicap. The last ten with the lowest scores will play for the million dollars on May 26, 2006. The ten players will have a nine-hole playoff where someone is eliminated at each hole until two players are left to play the last hole.
Professional or amateur golfers that are not members of the PGA/LPGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, European Tour, or the Champions Tour can apply. There is an entry fee of $15,000 per player that will be collected for the $1.5 million dollar prize.

It would be nice to earn a million bucks from doing something that you enjoy — golf. However, giving a registration fee of $15,000 would mean that you have got to have plenty of cash just to join this match. What about those who would like to get into the game but do not have the financial means to come up with $15,000? Oh well, at least we have something to look forward to.
