New PGA Tour Schedule in 2007
PGA January 13th, 2006With the results of the schedule for 2007, it has been shown that Washington will not be hosting the PGA Tour. What this translates into, is the absence of the Booz Allen Classic. Previously the PGA Tour included the Booz Allen Classic since 1968.
What is in store for us golf fans in 2007 is the Fedex Cup. The Fedex Cup will consists of “a season-long point race. ” in which players will earn points from the first opening event at Kapalua. These points will be tallied up and used to qualify players for the tournaments within the Championship Series.
Tim Finchem, PGA Tour commissioner, stated that he is “discussing with six tournaments - the Booz Allen, Disney, Texas Open, Southern Farm Bureau Classic and Hartford - about becoming part of the post-Tour Championship schedule”.
