An Easier Way to Manage Your Golf League
Business December 10th, 2005Last summer, I had the pleasure of being the secretary for my husband’s golf league. It was the first time I’d ever been the secretary of a league, and I had a lot of questions and sometimes not very many answers. I was handed the software and it’s instruction book, one page of rules, the roster and more work than I was prepared for. Never having used golf league software before, I can honestly say it was a learning experience. After the first half of the season, I was calculating match winners and skins by hand. It seems the software program had a couple glitches and was a little antiquated. Coupled with my inexperience, I knew I was in over my head. I was determined to find a better way to manage the league.
I am spending the off season researching league software. There are so many options! I’m leaning toward an Internet-based software. The members can sign in and see their standings, post questions, communicate with the secretary or president and other players, and check the schedule on line anytime they want. Most of the programs offer a short tour of their software through their web site. Now, I just need to figure out which program is the best for our league. First and foremost, it’s got to be user-friendly for the secretary and the players. I also want it to be an easy and fun experience for all of us.
