There have been many attempts to create new gaming experiences through the implementation of innovative input devices (controllers). Some of the different controllers to come out within the past few years include: dance mats, microphones, skateboards, maracas, and Donkey Kong bongos. Real World Golf adds a new controller into the mix with their golf club variation.

The club itself is nothing more than a prop. The game actually tracks motion using GameTrak’s proprietary gloves which capture your motions and reflect them on the screen.

Every aspect of your swing is tracked in real time and shown onscreen. Just adjust your swing to pitch or fade, top or spin the ball. Everything you can do in real golf you can do in GameTrak: Real World Golf.

The new platform versions will ship on November 23rd, 2005 with all the features of the PS2 version. The game is packed with five (maybe six) 18-hole courses and a driving range. Multiplayer modes, for up to four players, include traditional course play, golf darts, through the hoops, target practice, and car smashing.

New players will be welcomed with the in depth video tutorials intended to teach players how to stand, grip the club, swing the club, and more.

In my opinion, the game is not as good as the EA Sports Tiger Woods Franchise, but may be worth trying out. All-in-all, it’s a good concept, but nothing too special. If you are looking for a laid back game play, Real World Golf may be for you. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a realistic golf simulator, go for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005/2006.
