Callaway and Tour Golf announced today that they have made a deal that makes Tour Golf the exclusive liscensee for Callaway Footwear.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Tour Golf will get a long-term license extension, use of the Callaway Golf sales force in the United States beginning Oct. 1, 2005, and a coordinated marketing effort to further strengthen brand awareness and sales in the U.S. market.

This is from a press release which was released today, but it mentions “October 1st,” so I don’t know when this deal actually happened. I think this is a good move for Tour Golf, but a questionable move for Callaway. The reason being is that limits Callaway’s possibilities of saturating the market.
