Before adventuring out into the world of business, it was difficult to understand why men find so much pleasure in the sport of golf. For some reason, I couldn’t understand how two hours on an 18-hole golf course battling the elements could bring such enjoyment. Then one day, I was invited to attend a business meeting that took place on the golf course.

The time I spent socializing with some of the top executives of my company and several potential clients gave me a new perspective on golf. It wasn’t long before I realized that the golf course was the most prestigious place to conduct business.

Now that I’ve taken up the sport, I have managed to network with a group of businesswomen who host a golf outing annually. It’s bigger than any Tupperware party is and more effective than attending a Trade Show. I’ve learned that I don’t have to be an expert in golf to close a sale, just interested in hitting the golf ball around 18-holes.
