Before the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Commissioner Tim Finchem will be releasing some of the details about the changes that will be implemented for the PGA Tour 2007 schedule. This could be stemming from the PGA having a hard time renewing network television contracts.

The changes are expected to include a points system where players will earn their way into late season tournaments. Participation in the Tour Championship, which will move from November to September, will be based on year-long performance.

“It’s going to reward guys that are playing well,” Singh was quoted as saying. “The tournaments after the schedule that they’ve planned out, they’re still going to be there. They want some sort of finale.”

Although some players fear that the changes will bring less money and less tournaments, the PGA assures that there will be just as many rounds as there have always been.
