Golf Shoes Make a Difference
Tips & Advice October 22nd, 2005The golf shoes you wear on the green could affect your game. Too much time is spent on finding the right golf clubs rather than selecting quality golf shoes. Did you know that the right golf shoe could reduce your handicap? I didn’t. It wasn’t until I invested in a high quality shoe that I realized there was a difference.
Guidelines to follow:
1. Choose a shoe you can wiggle your toes in.
2. Try on shoes with the same socks you’ll be wearing on the green.
3. The middle of the shoe should feel tighter than with ordinary shoes.
4. Make sure the shoe isn’t too loose and fits snug around your foot.
5. Choose leather waterproof shoes over synthetic.
Besides the fit, choose golf shoes with a soft spike. More and more golf courses are prohibiting the use of hard spike golf shoes because they tear up the green.
