CEO Golf ChallengeWhich CEO is the best golfer? That may sound like a strange and extremely broad question to you, but not to CEO Challenges. For the first time ever, they will be holding the CEO Golf Challenge.

The concept is simple. You must be a CEO, Chief Officer, or President of a company, the events will take place on the same weekends as six major golf tournaments (The Masters, The US Open, The British Open, The PGA Championship, The Players Championship, and The Nissan Open), and the top four from each evet will play in the CEO Golf Challenge World Championship in Hawaii.

“Five years ago we came up with the concept of organizing competitions for CEOs, starting with the CEO Ironman Challenge,” said Ted Kennedy, President of CEO Challenge LLC. “It was only natural that we expand into golf events, given that most CEOs love golf and they all love to compete!”

Kennedy continues, “We drew up a set of criteria for making this a first-class experience from start to finish, and found the perfect partner in the Saturday Series Pro-Am that let us hit every mark. They have the expertise in organizing tournaments, close association with all the major PGA TOUR events, and great relationships with PGA TOUR Pros. Through this partnership we will offer a series of events that will over-deliver to the high expectations of participating CEOs. And, we will finally see who really is the best CEO golfer.”

The tournament format is as follows:
[BREAK]

  • Each CEO Golf Challenge tournament takes place Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, and consists of 36 holes of golf (ex. Players Championship - Friday and Saturday)
  • For the net division the maximum handicaps are 21 for men, and 27 for women
  • Top three golfers in each division will be acknowledged at an Awards Dinner on Friday night
  • Top seven gross players from the CEO tournament will be the captains for the Saturday Series Pro-Am event, and will choose their three team members in a closed draft format
  • Teams will choose the PGA TOUR Pro that will play with their team on Saturday based on how their captain finished in the tournament, and which Pros are available after the Friday cut
  • Saturday Series Pro-Am is a ‘Shamble’ format. (Because each team will have the option of using its pro’s drives, handicaps are taken at 75% of value.)
