Can men play in the Women’s Open?
General News October 27th, 2005
Can men play in women’s tournaments? That is the question that French golfer Jean van de Velde wants answered.
With the recent approvals of women being accepted into the men’s tournament qualifiers, one man is asking why it isn’t the other way around.
Where do we draw the line? If women enter our tournaments, it applies that men can play with women.
The point he is trying to make is not that he actually wants to play in women’s tournaments, but that women should not be playing in the men’s tournaments. As my opinions in a previous post suggest, I agree with him.
I am definitely going to approach them to get an application and if they let me play in the qualifying event then I will. I’ll even wear a kilt and shave my legs. I just don’t understand it, and if my application is not accepted I will definitely get advice and see how far it will go.
