Woods Tackles Dunlop Pheonix, Going for Grand Slam
PGA November 21st, 2005Old news, I know. Tiger Woods won the Dunlop Phoenix tournament in Japan last weekend. He stepped it up in the final stretch and came out a winner.
After that, it appeared that he might not be playing in the Grand Slam of Golf due to either his ankle, which he twisted on a tee shot, or the stomach virus that he picked up.
Mason said Woods’ ankle, which he twisted on his tee shot during a playoff hole in Japan, wasn’t the problem.
Woods has said his ankle has been bothering him for about a month and that the cold weather in Japan made it worse.
Because of the stomach virus, he withdrew from the pro-am today, but is still expected to play in the 36-hole event for the winners of this year’s majors.
